SVU students' dharna turns violent

Dharna staged by students at SV University main campus turned violent with police removing the dharna tent and dispersing the students.
The dharna was staged in support of YSR Jagan Mohan Reddy, who is in an indefinite deeksha demanding special status for Andhra Pradesh.
According to Tirupati police, the students did not take permission to stage the dharna. The police had to resort to mild lathicharge to disperse the students.
The action prompted the students to gather at Ambedkar statue in the campus and stage a sit-in, condemning the police action.
