Suspense Continues On Baahubali 2 Release; Govt Warns Against Premier Show

Benefit show tickets were sold at thousands of rupees  - Sakshi Post

Hyderabad: Even as the suspense continues on the release of Baahubali-2: The Conclusion, the effort by the producers to screen a premier show on Thursday night is likely to be thwarted by the government.

Telangana government has warned the producers, distributors and exhibitors against screening of Thursday's premier stating that they will have to take the responsibility for any untoward consequences due to the unscheduled show.

Several theaters in Hyderabad have already made arrangements for the screening of premier show at 9pm and 10pm today.

"Government is all for promoting Baahubali as it is a great movie and they are given permission to screen five shows a day as against the norm of four shows. But if they become more greedy and violate the norms, they will have to face the consequences," said Telangana Cinematography Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav. He said there is no information to the authorities concerned about the Thursday's premier show and as such there won't be security arrangements at theaters.

The Minister also warned against indiscriminate hike of ticket prices and said the purpose of government's encouragement is defeated as the distributors made it impossible for the common man to buy a ticket which is being sold at thousands of rupees. He also said action will be taken against the combo offers which are intended only to cash in on the craze by forcing audience to buy various other products along with tickets.
