Submit Detailed Report on Chennampalli Fort Excavation: HC

Kurnool: Following excavation works taken up by the mining department at Chennampalli Fort in Kurnool district, the High Court has asked the Andhra Pradesh government to respond over the digging works. The division bench of the High Court was dealing with a PIL filed by a private person.

The division bench sought to know as to which law has permitted the government to take up the excavation. However, the government counsel told the bench that some unidentified persons had started digging the place.

Later, preventing them, the mining department officials taken up digging works after prior permission from the District Collector. The counsel also told the court that the officials had found some minerals at the place. Later, the counsel was asked to submit a detailed report over the matter.
