Stale Non-Veg Found Even At Novotel, Fined Rs30,000

Hyderabad: In a continuing crackdown on eateries by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), yet another star hotel - Novotel - in Madhapur was fined Rs30,000 in connection with violations of obtaining and storing meat.

The popular star hotel was procuring stamped meat but during the raid the officials found that the labels were removed from the procured meat making it difficult to find the date of purchase. Apart from this GHMC official V. Mamatha said that for discarding waste private vehicles were used by the hotel. Chances are high that food and ingredients may be recycled if the wastage is discarded by private vehicles, said the official.

Few days ago GHMC sealed Y2K Restaurant at Punjagutta following stale food and unhygienic kitchen. Similarly, Walmart outlet 'Best Price' was fined Rs10,000 for selling unstamped meat. From past few weeks, the civic body has been conducting raids across the city to keep a tab on eateries for putting public health at hazard.
