Sridevi Death Suspected Murder, Boney Kapoor Provides Testimony

Sridevi death is suspected to be a murder. According to latest reports, Dubai Police has officially handed over the case to Dubai Public Prosecution who are following standard investigative procedures which involves routine questioning. According to latest reports coming in as stated by a Dubai based news media, the Public Prosecution is likely to conduct a thorough investigation to ascertain the circumstances that led to Sridevi's death and find Sridevi’s death cause.

On Sridevi death reason, the Dubai police also ruled out any foul play saying that the actress who was under the influence could have slipped into the bathtub and drowned.

The formal medical committee is overseeing the probe under the supervision of the Dubai police officials. The public prosecution now holds the papers meant for repatriation of the body.

The Dubai Media office on its official Twitter handle clarified on the matter.

"The matters are currently entirely with the public prosecution at the moment. We are hoping that proceedings would be completed soon," said Vipul, the Consul General of India.

Sridevi Body Still in Morgue

According to latest reports, Sridevi's body is still in the mortuary in Dubai. The authorities are awaiting clearance from Dubai Public Prosecutor for getting the mortal remains of the actress back to India. The body will first be taken to Muhaisna for embalming.

Boney Testimony A Standard Investigation Procedure

There were reports earlier that the Dubai Public prosecution had taken Boney for questioning and that they weren't satisfied with his answers about circumstances leading to Sridevi's death. But the latest we hear is that Sridevi's director husband Boney Kapoor only provided testimony which was as per standard police investigation procedures.

Sridevi was found dead in a bathtub and her husband who flew down to Mumbai after attending Mohit Marwah's wedding had flown back to Dubai to surprise her.

He had even asked her on a dinner date for which she reportedly went to have a shower before getting ready. According to an earlier statement issued by Boney Kapoor, he had to break open the bathroom door after his calls to her didn't yield any replies.

Soon after, he is believed to have broke open the door and found her lying motionless in the bathtub at the luxury hotel in Jumeirah in Dubai.

Now, the body of the actress was to be flown in to India for her last rites. Members from across the film fraternity had rushed to Anil Kapoor's home where the body was to be kept for final respects.

However, the latest post mortem report has stated that Sridevi's death wasn't a cardiac arrest as reported earlier but accidental drowning. Traces of alcohol too are believed to have been found in her blood.

So the theory is that she could have passed out in the bath tub which could have led to accidental drowning as the post mortem report suggests.

However, according to latest reports the Dubai police aren't too happy with Sridevi's husband Boney Kapoor's answers and have taken possession of his passport.

Now, it looks like a suspected murder and speculation is rife that Sridevi's Death could be a murder.

Now, it looks like her funeral would be further delayed given that the police in all likelihood will not release her body till they get satisfactory answers to all their questions.

The Dubai police is also reportedly examining Sridevi's call records to see who she spoke to hours before her death.

"After the completion police investigation, all death cases of expatriates, including natural and unnatural death, are transferred to public prosecution department. If the prosecution feels that further investigation and another post-mortem is required, they can ask the concerned authorities to stop the repatriation of the deceased," Anuradha Vobbiliselty, an advocate and legal consultant at Dr Ibrahim Al Mulla legal consultants told Khaleej Times.

An earlier report said that she was to stay back for a few days in Dubai to spend time with her sister Srilatha.

Now, Boney Kapoor coming back to Dubai to surprise her may have raised suspicions.
