Sri Lankan President Made To Wait As Driver Goes For Darshan At Tirumala

Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena was made to wait for 12 minutes - Sakshi Post

Tirumala: Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena along with his family was made to wait for 12 minutes in his car as the driver of his convoy went for darshan of Lord Balaji at Tirumala on Sunday.

It has been learnt that the convoy and the driver came from Karnataka.

Sirisena along with his wife Jayanthi Pushpa Kumari and Son Daham Sirisena visited the temple on Sunday in the early hours and offered prayers to the presiding deity

The incident has left TTD officials red faced especially the security staff and an inquiry has been ordered following the lapse. Temple authorities have been slammed by Tirupati Urban SP R. Jayalakshmi for not communicating properly and permitting the driver for darshan during VVIP visit.

Sirisena along with his wife Jayanthi Pushpa Kumari and Son Daham Sirisena visited the temple on Sunday in the early hours and offered prayers to the presiding deity. Sirisena and his family members participated in the Suprabhatham seva.

Upon arrival, the president was welcomed by TTD chairman Chadalwada Krishnamurthy, executive officer (EO) Sambasiva Rao and joint EO Pola Bhaskar.

Later, Sirisena and his family members left for Bengaluru who were scheduled to fly back to Sri Lanka.
