Spurned Woman Attacks Boyfriend, Throws Acid and Slashes Face With Blade

Bengaluru: A jilted woman has been held for throwing acid and slashing his boyfreidns's face with a blade. The incident took place at Attiguppe in Bengaluru.

The victim Jayakumar (32) was rushed to a hospital by his friend and is undergoing a treatment, while the accused Lydia (26) has been arrested and booked under a under 326A, 307 and other sections of IPC.

Lydia is a resident of Srirampura and a nurse at a private hospital on Ali Asgar Roads. Police said that Lydia met Jayakumar at his apparel shop five years ago, both fell in love instantly and have been seeing each other since then.

Enraged over this she took a drastic step to attack him. She took the help of her cousin Sunil to execute the plan, who is at large. We are trying to ascertain her accomplice

She has been insisting him to convert to Christianity and marry her, however the victim has been evading. Last November he agreed to marry her but refused to covert to her religion which led to a scuffle between them

"Enraged over this she took a drastic step to attack him. She took the help of her cousin Sunil to execute the plan, who is at large. We are trying to ascertain her accomplice," said the police.

Police said that Lydia and her cousin knew about his day-to-day activity. As Jayakumar and his friend were returning from home, the accused followed them on scooter.

As the victim came close by Lydia threw acid through his car window. Following which the car was stopped and the victim came out. Then Lydia attacked him blade and sped away from the place.
