Hyderabad: S P Singh on Sunday took charge as the new Chief Secretary of Telangana.

SP Singh has been appointed as the new Chief Secretary replacing Pradeep Chandra who attained superannuation on December 31. The Telangana government sought three-month extension for Pradeep Chandra from the Central government. However, that was turned down as Pradeep Chandra took charge only recently after Rajeev Sharma.

Meanwhile, DGP (ACB) A K Khan also retired on Saturday. He was appointed as the minority cell advisor and Aravind Kumar as the Resident Commissioner of Telangana Bhavan in New Delhi. The government considered other names also for the CS post, but went with S P Singh, basing on the performance in their departments.
