Sonia calls for explanation from Botsa on rape comments
Even though PCC chief Botsa Satyanarayana had withdrawn his comments with regard to the Delhi gang-rape, problems for him are far from over. The Congress high command has expressed deep resentment against him.
According to sources in the Congress, AICC president Sonia Gandhi was furious over the comments made by on Botsa yesterday. She reportedly asked her political secretary Ahmed Patel and Union Minister Gulam Nabi Azad to seek an explanation from him on the inappropriate comments, which were almost derogatory in nature.
Azad immediately contacted the PCC chief and gave him the high command's view of the episode. Botsa sources say submitted letter on the comments and withdrawal of the same later.
Meanwhile, protesting against Botsa's remarks, YSR Congress Party's women's wing burnt his effigy in Visakhapatnam in the afternoon.
Shouting slogans against Botsa, they organised a rally and burnt his effigy at Jagadamba centre.
