Sign The Online Petition Against GHMC Against Dump Garbage In Park

‘Save Nallagandla Park’ has been initiated to save the park as GHMC turned it into a garbage yard - Sakshi Post

Hyderabad: An online crusade called 'Save Nallagandla Park' has been initiated to save the park as GHMC turned it into a garbage yard. The Nallagandla residents rue that the park was supposed to be the biggest lung space in the area but it became a segregation site. The campaign has been started on Change.org and already signed by nearly 1,000 people.

"This waste storage site is illegal and is a violation of basic principles of municipal health administration. In the last two years, the situation has worsened with pollution and stench caused by huge load of waste dumped on the site on daily basis," the petition reads. One of the petitioner says that they have raised the issue for past few years by creating tickets and submitting petitions but have fallen on to deaf ears. Sensing the hazardous impact an online petition was started.

"While it is maintained as temporary measure from last several years, there is no detail provided regarding timelines on when waste dumping on this park would be stopped and park to be established," it reads.

They have listed out seven hazardous points affecting its residents and have also listed out five demands seeking an action. Some of its demands reads, "Initiate a health impact study, order an inquiry into the encroachment of the park and Initiate environmental remediation measures."
