SFI Activists Thrash Cop In Front Of Police Station, Caught On Camera

Idukki: In a shocking incident, nine SFI activists thrashed a policeman right in front of a police station at Thodupuzha in Idukki district of Kerala state. The incident occurred on Wednesday night. The whole scene was caught in a CCTV camera installed at the police station.

It all started when a group of SFI students were released from the police custody at 9 pm. The rival group, who were waiting outside the police station, got into argument with the released persons.

Noticing trouble outside the police station, two cops rushed to scene to pacify both the groups. A person among the group charged at the policeman holding his collar and pushed him away on the road. The members in the group too joined and thrashed the policeman. Another cop came to the rescue of his colleague. Soon after the attack, they accused fled the scene.

The police officials are identifying the CCTV footage to nab the culprits. However, the incident is not an isolated one. It may be recalled that CPI(M) activists assaulted policemen at BJP office in Thiruvananthapuram in July.
