Senior Congress Leader ‘Unfollows’ Rahul on Twitter, Creates A Flutter

In an interesting development, senior Congress leader and former chief minister of Gujarat Shankar Singh Vaghela has unfollowed party vice-president Rahul Gandhi on Twitter. He has also unfollowed several other important Congressmen on Twitter leading to speculations about his future political moves.

Vaghela, a veteran BJP leader, had left BJP and joined the Congress to become Chief Minister of Gujarat. However, of late, his relations with the Congress have been in 'Blow Hot Blow Cold' mode. When Modi became prime minister, he publicly congratulated him in the Assembly. He had been sulking that the Congress has not given him due importance. Meanwhile, Vaghela said he was not in the chief ministerial race and was not willing to contest the Assembly polls. Vaghela is currently on a foreign tours and would be back by May 23. It was during his foreign tour that he had unfollowed Rahul Gandhi. Also, Vaghela had skipped an event organised by the party's IT cell sometime ago indicating a possible rift in the party.

An unnerved Congress says the BJP is trying to spread lies. He also refuted the claims that some Congress MLAs are planning to join the BJP. Congress state unit chief Bharatsinh Solanki said Vaghela has gone abroad due to "personal reasons" and added that the party leadership will sit down to formulate its strategy for the state assembly polls after he returns.
