Safety Concerns: Uber Set To Lose Licence 

London: London's transport regulator has decided not to renew the licence of the US-based cab aggregator Uber for safety reasons.

The ride-hailing company's licence to operate in the British capital will expire on September 30. Uber will not be issued a new private hire licence, Transport for London (TfL) said on Friday. Uber's approach and conduct demonstrated a lack of corporate responsibility which could have potential public safety and security implications, TfL said. The company, however, has three weeks to appeal, during which it can continue to operate.

In a statement, Uber said that it would appeal to keep licence for London.
