Sadak Bandh against law, asserts Sabitha

As the opposition parties including TRS, TDP, YSRCP and BJP stalled the Assembly proceedings over the arrest of leaders participating in 'Sadak Bandh', Home Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy made a statement on Saturday.

Reading her note, she recalled that courts have made it clear that sadak bandh (road blockade) was against the law.

She faulted the leaders who participated in the road blockade on national highways despite being denied permission.

Police released as many as 1422 members without registering criminal cases against them. Many untoward incidents took place on the day including damage of RTC buses, the home minister added.
