Bangladesh cricket is now plagued by an unseemly controversy. Two of its top players were caught with girls in their hostel rooms during the Bangladesh Premier League. The issue came to light on Tuesday and the BCB, which confirmed the allegations, has imposed penalty of Rs 10 lakh each on the players and gave them a stern warning.

The batsmen are Rajshahi Kings batsman Sabbir Rahman and Barisal Bulls pacer Al-Amin Hossain.

"A governing council investigation has found both players guilty of serious off-field disciplinary breaches during the current tournament," the press release read. The players were reminded to be more responsible with a warning that such offences will prompt for harsh punishment in the future

Sabbir’s contract was worth 4 million Bangladeshi taka (USD 5,064), while Al-Amin was supposed to receive 2.5 million Bangladeshi taka (USD 3,165)

Al-Amin has been fined 50 percent of his BPL contract fee and Sabbir 30 percent for off-field disciplinary breaches, according to a media statement released by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) .
