Rs18 Crore Recovered from TDP MLA House in Mahbubnagar - Sakshi Post

Mahbubnagar: Even as the Telugu Desam Party is struggling to come clean out of various scams especially the call money sex racket in Andhra Pradesh, its counerpart in Telangana found itself in yet another soup with the Income Tax department conducting raids on properties of MLA from Narayanpet constituency in Mahbubnagar district on Thursday.According to sources, around Rs18 crore cash was recovered from various properties belonging to TDP MLA Rajender Reddy. Raids were conducted simultaneously on several properties belonging to Rajender Reddy in Mahbubnagar, Hyderabad, and Raichur in Karnataka. He owns Navodaya Medical College in Raichur, Navodaya Hospital in Mahbubnagar and has offices at various places. The IT sleuths seized cash and several documents related to properties.

The IT raids on a TDP MLA became significant in view of the MLC elections to be held in Telangana on December 27. In the last MLA elections, a TDP MLA Revanth Reddy was caught bribing Anglo-Indian nominated MLA Stephenson to lure him to vote in his party's favor. The MLA was sent to jail for two in the infamous cash-for-vote case and it led to a big chasm between TRS and TDP and eventually between Telangana and AP. An investigation is going on in Rajender Reddy's unaccounted cash case.
