Rayalaseema angry over Chandrababu's statement on capital

There was deep disenchantment and anger in Rayalaseema region after Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N.Chandrababu Naidu had categorically said that the capital would be set up near Vijayawada only.

Lawyers boycotted their duties and joined protests in Kurnool. They began indefinite fast demanding Kurnool to be declared as the capital of the state.

At Kurnool Medical College, some students climbed the hoarding there and protested over the decision of the state government.

At SK University campus in Anantapur city, the students protested over the statement and staged a rasta roko on Anantapur-Chennai Road.

At clock tower centre in Anantapur, the BC leaders burnt Chandrababu Naidu in effigy.

Bandh began in the Rayalaseema region after the statement of the chief minister.
