Hyderabad: Medical negligence of a doctor gave some anxious moments to a family seeing their child suffering with needle stitched inside his right leg. A doctor at Prasad hospital in KPHB Colony left a needle in an infant's right leg during a surgery causing severe discomfort to the kid for nearly a month.

According to the police, a resident of Nizampet village, Kalluri Narendra Kumar's wife gave birth to a baby at a private hospital in Kukatpally in April this year. As she developed severe health complications, she was shifted to Prasad Hospital where she and the newly-born child had undergone treatment before being discharged on April 20.

After discharging from hospital, the couple noticed that their child's right leg started swelling. Worried about this, the couple again consulted doctor Srinivas. Annoyed over this, Dr Prasad had shouted at the couple claiming that he had 10 years of experience in the field of medicine.

However, the parents, who could see the needle clearly, removed it on Friday from their child's leg and lodged a complaint with the police.

A case has been registered under relevant sections for causing injury by an act endangering the life of others.
