Prakasam Girl Run Over by Goods Train in Nellore

Nellore: A 23-year-old woman was mowed down by a train while she was crossing the railway track at Nellore Railway Station on Thursday morning.

The woman, identified as R. Srilatha, a native of Somarajupalle was a student of Spoorthi coaching center in Nellore. She was residing at a ladies hostel along with her friend Sirisha. On Thursday, she left for coaching center and was found dead on the railway track. With the help of her books, the on-lookers ascertained her identity and alerted the police and coaching center.

An eye-witness told the police that the victim was not aware of the approaching train while she was crossing the railway lines. Though the police suspected that she could have committed suicide, her friends said that she had no reasons to do so.

The police has registered a case of unnatural death and sent the body for post-mortem.
