Senior leaders of the YSRCP Ummareddy Venkateswarlu, Botsa Satyanarayana and K Parthasarathi met Andhra Pradesh DGP N Sambasiva Rao and gave him the details of the proposed Praja Sankalpa Yatra of the Leader of the Opposition and YSRCP YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, which is starting from November 6.

This visit came after the DGP and Andhra Pradesh Home Minister N Chinarajappa repeatedly said that the Leader of the Opposition should obtain permission before embarking upon the yatra. The YSRCP categorically said that there was no question of seeking any permission and cited the previous padayatras by many leaders, including present Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, where no permission was ever sought. The YSRCP leaders also told the DGP that YS Jagan needs to be provided with police security. They raised the issue amid reports that the Government could withdraw the security to YS Jagan.

Later, briefing the mediapersons about their interaction with the DGP, Botsa Satyanarayana said the DGP has responded positively. He said the party leaders had told the DGP that the yatra was being undertaken to highlight the undemocratic policies of the State Government and explain about the policies of the YSRCP. The DGP also said that the yatra would be allowed as per the guidelines laid down by the Supreme Court. He also told the YSRCP leaders to provide the details of the Praja Sankalpa Yatra and the route map to the respective superintendents of police in the districts through which the yatra will pass.
