Hyderabad: A 24-year-old IBM employee lost his life on Tuesday while trying to avoid a pothole on the road in Hyderabad’s hitech corridor at Madhapur.

The incident happened as Chanakya Reddy was going to his workplace. As he reached Butta Convention Center in Madhapur, he lost control over his Honda Activa (AP 21 BG 7018) and fell off as he was trying to avoid a pothole. However a speeding Innova (AP09 TB 2793) ran over him.

Chanakya was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital but he succumbed to injuries.

Many believe a single pothole in the middle of the road claimed the techie’s life and the mishap could have been averted if the civic body addressed the potholes menace seriously

Investigating Officer Venkat Reddy said that Chanakya didn’t suffer any head injuries as he was wearing helmet but died due to internal injuries. A case has been registered against the driver for the accidental death.

Chanakya was a resident of KPHB Colony Phase -I, who was living in a rented flat.

However, many believe a single pothole in the middle of the road claimed the techie’s life and the mishap could have been averted if the civic body addressed the potholes menace seriously.
