Popular Actor Rapes Aspiring Model, Charged

Mumbai: A noted Hindi serial actor Piyush Sahdev was arrested on charges of rape of a 23-year-model-cum- fashion designer. An FIR was filed in this regard on November 20 and Piyush will be in custody till November 27. Versova police senior inspector Kiran Kale cofirmed the news of his arrest. He has been booked under 376 (1) of the IPC.

According to reports, the 35-year-old actor has been in live-in-relationship with her for the past two months. The police officials said that the actor committed the offence after he won her trust promising to build her modeling career and giving a break in films.

Meanwhile, on personal front also the actor is also going through rough patch as news surfaced of divorce with his wife Akangsha Rawat. "We have been staying separately for some time now and are also heading for a divorce. Since the case is sub-judice, we are not allowed to speak about it. I don’t want to get into any more details as of now," he told The Indian Express.

The actor shot to fame with hit serial like Devon Ke Dev Mahadev, Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke, Geet and Har Ghar Kuch Kehta Hai.
