The by-poll for Narayankhed MLA seat is necessitated by the sudden death of sitting MLA Patolla Kistareddy of Congress. He died on August 25 due to a massive heart attack while in sleep.

P. Sanjeeva Reddy, son of Kistareddy, from Congress, M. Vijayapal Reddy from Telugu Desam Party and M. Bhupal Reddy from Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) are in the poll fray.
