Police Alerted On Twitter After Boy Stripped And Tied To Tree For Bunking School

Thane: Police, on Monday, rescued an eight-year-old boy after they were alerted on Twitter about child abuse in Andheri neighbourhood.
The boy was stripped and tied to a tree, apparently by his mother, for bunking school. She was a widow and worked as a domestic help and struggled to send her two children to school, police said. A twitter follower of Mumbai police, Nishit Mehta, alerted them about the incident.
However, the police did not arrest the boy's mother. They let her off with a warning against punishing children.
