PoK Part Of Pakistan, Repeats Farooq Abdullah

Farooq Abdullah - Sakshi Post

Jammu: National Conference chief Farooq Abdullah on Saturday reiterated that Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) is part of Pakistan, despite growing legal cases filed against him for his remarks.

It may be recalled that on November 15, Farooq Abdullah told a public gathering in Uri that PoK was part of Pakistan and that India should give up on the pursuit of acquiring it. Slamming Abdullah over his controversial remarks on Jammu and Kashmir, BJP National General Secretary Ram Madhav said that his views and opinions were unfortunate. On Saturday, Abdullah reiterated his comments at a public meeting and said that PoK was part of Pakistan.

Meanwhile, in Jammu, a social activist filed a complaint with the district magistrate against former chief minister Farooq Abdullah and actor Rishi Kapoor seeking registration of sedition cases against them for their remarks on Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK). Sukesh Khajuria, a former member of the prominent citizen's advisory committee constituted by the state government, in an application yesterday sought action under section 196 of the CrPC against them for "accepting PoK as part of Pakistan".

A PIL was also filed in the Delhi High Court against Farooq Abdullah, on Friday, seeking action for his reported controversial remarks on PoK including that it belonged to the neighbouring country. The plea, filed by Delhi-based Maulana Ansar Raza who claimed to be a social activist, has sought "immediate investigation" and "arrest" of the Srinagar MP alleging that he favoured Pakistan and insulted India.
