Poisonous Gas Kills Daily Wage Labourers At Biochemical Plant in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Two daily wage workers died while a third person is in critical condition after they inhaled poisonous gas while cleaning a manhole, in the city on Monday.

The incident took place at Biochemical and Synthetic Products Pvt Ltd at Zimkalwada. The deceased have been identified as Alladi Ramarao and Alladi Seetharam while a third worker Narasimhulu is undergoing treatment in a private hospital. According to the police, Alladi Ramarao entered the manhole but fell unconscious soon after. Later, Alladi Seetharam entered the manhole to check on Ramarao who was not responding to repeated calls. However, Seetharam too fell conscious and was only discovered after a while by Narasimhulu when the latter entered the manhole. Narasimhulu, too fell unconscious but managed to alert the management who inturn called the fire brigade to rescue the workers.
