Petition Against Ram Gopal Varma For Comments On Drug Probe

Hyderabad: A petition has been filed in Ranga Reddy court on Tuesday against noted film director Ram Gopal Varma for his comments on the Special Investigation Team (SIT) that is probing the sensational drugs case.

The petition was filed by advocate Ranga Prasad. It may be recalled that the director stated that the excise department is targetting film personalities in the drugs case. "Whatever the actual truth of the drugs matter the law in its own course might tell or not tell but for the moment Akun Sabharwal is being projected like Amarendra Bahubali by the Media ..Maybe S S Rajamouli should make Bahubali 3 with him," he had remarked.

On the issue of drugs being sold at schools and colleges, RGV stated that, ""I am very much wondering if the school children taking drugs also will be summoned by SIT and interrogated for 12 hours like they are doing to Poori jagan and Subba Raju ..just asking?"

Stating that such comments will have a demoralising effect on the investigators, the advocate urged in his petition that people making the comments should be punished. Advocate Ranga Prasad said that people in general have respect for the police and excise department and that such comments are aimed at defaming the police department.
