Passion for Parasailing turns Fatal, Man Falls to Death

The mishap occurred as the safety harness was not properly attached and it was giving way. Before the organisers tried to save him, he fell down with a thud and was declared dead at a hospital.

A 53-year-old man’s passion for parasailing turned fatal when he fell down from a height of 60 metres and did on the spot. The incident occurred in Tamil Nadu’s Coimbatore.

The mishap occurred as the safety harness was not properly attached and it was giving way. Before the organisers tried to save him, he fell down with a thud and was declared dead at a hospital. For sometime, he was found hanging precariously with his safety belt coming off.

The parasailing was organised as part of a three-day festival organised by the Coimbatore Medical College and the victim was identified as Malleswara Rao, a businessman. His socking fall, which was captured in a video clip has gone viral on the social media.

Sources said the organisers did not have the necessary permission to hold the event. the operator of parasailing Glider Babu is on the run and efforts are on to nab him.
