Opposition continues to flog Sadhvi's comments in RS - Sakshi Post

Despite Prime Minister's clarification on the controversial comments of Union Minister Sadhvi Niranjan Jyothi, the Opposition stalled the zero hour in Rajya Sabha on Thursday

.
The opposition, which sought to put the Modi government on the dock over the comments of the minister at an election rally, demanded that the prime minister make a statement on the issue.
"I have disapproved the kind of language used by the minister in strongest terms. We should avoid making such statements and using such language.  The minister has apologised and the House should gracefully accept that and carry forward its business in national interest," said Narendra Modi.
When Modi made the statement in Rajya Sabha on Friday, Parliamentary affairs minister Venkaiah Naidu appealed to the members to rest the issue and allow the business of the house to be taken up.  Opposition leaders Sitaram Yechuri, Sharad Yadav and other demanded that the minister be removed from the post, to which the ruling BJP declined.
PJ Kurian, who was in the chair, repeatedly appealed to the members to allow the zero hour to be taken. When this fell on deaf ears, he adjourned Rajya Sabha till noon.
