Observe counting day with Sharmila in Los Angeles

Indian politics is replete with stories of deceit, dishonesty, backstabbing and disloyalty. But when the politics of Andhra Pradesh politics are chronicled,  YS Rajashekara Reddy's daughter and YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's sister Sharmila would be remembered as a synonym for loyalty and utmost dedication.  

Sharmila, in spite of coming from an illustrious political family, chose to stay away from the grime and dirt of politics. But, October 2012 pulled her out of her comfort zone and pushed her into the world of politics. And, she took the challenge head on.  After the demise of her father, the much loved CM of Andhra, YSR, and the wrongful jailing of her brother YS Jagan, Sharmila took it upon herself to keep her jailed brother, the only person who was capable of taking YSR legacy forward, alive in the hearts of people.

She embarked upon a never before taken exercise, a padyatara covering a mammoth distance of 3,200 kms, braving the unforgiving Andhra heat, dust and a torn ligament, just to keep the memory of YSR alive.  

On her return, she tirelessly campaigned for YS Jagan. In spite of being a political novice, she did not totter, instead she stood strong, unwavering in front of the opposition, tearing into their lies and false promises. 

Meet this defiant young woman on May 15 and observe counting day with her.
