‘No Further Alliance With TDP Please!’

Vijayawada: Tense-like situation prevailed at the BJP public meeting in Vijayawada when some of the BJP workers openly expressed anger over the TDP government and appealed to the BJP leadership not to forge any alliance with the ruling party in AP.

On Thursday, the BJP held a public meeting here in the city in which its national president Amit Shah addressed.

BJP cadre shouted saying "leave TDP, save BJP" while Amit Shah was addressing the party workers. Some of them also displayed placards protesting against the "TDP's misrule" in the state.

Some of the party workers, who spoke with Sakshi at the venue, alleged that the TDP is embroiled in corruption, the BJP cadre appealed to the its leadership not to forge any alliance with the Telugu Desam.

"Hands of the BJP get dirty and it would lose respect if we again form alliance with the ruling TDP in 2019 elections," one of the activists present at the venue said.

Meanwhile, the police personnel present at the venue attempted to forcebly send the angry BJP workers out of the venue.

Senior BJP leaders M. Venkaiah Naidu, Purandeshwari, Kavuri Sambasiva Rao, Gokaraju Rangaraju were among several other leaders present at the meeting.
