NIT Warangal Students Expelled For Stabbing Student on Campus

NIT Warangal - Sakshi Post

Warangal: The administration of NIT Warangal has expelled five students and suspended two others for stabbing their inmate on the varsity's annual fest day.

The incident was reported on March 11, when a fight erupted between two groups in the Varsity and in a brawl, a student was stabbed inside the campus. He was immediately shifted to a hospital and is undergoing treatment.

Six students among seven were arrested by the police and were sent to custody after a complaint lodged by the Univeristy authorities. An attempt to murder case too has been registered against the students.

The police suspected that the reason for the conflict could be the Student council elections, which was held in the year 2017. "Rivalry between the groups was not unknown but we did not expect that it would lead to such a big thing," a University professor said.

Earlier, two students from BTech final year were arrested for carrying lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD) inside the campus.
