Change of Guard: Who Will Replace Yediyurappa as Karnataka CM?

 - Sakshi Post

As the Karnataka government continues to deal with the effects of the devastating Covid-19 second wave, there were rumours going around on Friday that BJP had begun the process of replacing Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa. The rumours went viral after Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai and BJP vice-president B Y Vijayendra, son of Yediyurappa, arrived in New Delhi on a special flight on Friday night and met Union Home Minister Amit Shah and the party’s national general secretary Arun Singh, who is in charge of Karnataka.

According to a source, few members of the party met Shah separately for discussing the idea of replacing Yediyurappa. Yediyurappa is the senior-most leader in BJP's Karnataka. Yediyurappa is serving as the Chief Minister of Karnataka for the fourth time, the only Chief Minister to do so in the history of Karnataka and he is also the only person in the history of Karnataka to serve 3 times as the Leader of the Opposition in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly. He is also an eight-time Shimoga district MLA from the Shikaripura constituency.
