Bulli Bai App Creator Neeraj Bishnoi Arrested

Bulli Bai App creator Neeraj Bishnoi was arrested by Delhi's Intelligence Fusions and Strategic Operations (IFSO) unit of the Special Cell on January 6.

"Neeraj Bishnoi, arrested from Assam by Delhi Police Special Cell's IFSO team, is the main conspirator and creator of 'Bulli Bai' on GitHub and the main Twitter account holder of the app," K P S Malhotra, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Intelligence Fusion and Strategic Operations (IFSO) unit, told the media.

Neeraj Bishnoi, resident of Jorhat in Assam. He was sent to 7-day police custody. A team under the supervision of IFSO unit DCP KPS Malhotra, ACP Raman Lamba, Inspector Vijendra, and Sub-Inspector Neeraj was constituted to track and arrest the alleged person. With the help of the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In), raw data analysis was conducted and it was found that the main suspect was based in Jorhat of Assam. Raids have been conducted in Jorhat and Neeraj Bishnoi was arrested on Thursday.

During the interrogation, Neeraj said that the GitHub app was developed in November 2021 and the Twitter account was created on December 31. He said that he was the one who created the app and also admitted that he created the Twitter handle @bullibai_ and also @Sage0x1 to tweet about the app. Bulli Bai app was used to upload the photos of Muslim women without their consent for a virtual auction.

Neeraj Bishnoi is a second-year B.Tech student from the Vellore Institute of Technology in Bhopal and he was suspended from the college. Earlier three students - 18-year-old Shweta Singh, 21-year-old Mayank Rawal, and 21-year-old Vishal Kumar Jha-  were arrested.
