Chaitanya Rao who rose to fame with 30 Weds 21, featured in Sharathulu Varthisthai was released in theatres today. Here’s the review of the film.
Plot: Chiranjeevi (Chaitanya Rao) works in a government office but his income is meagre. He has to take care of his mother and his two siblings. Chiranjeevi has been in a relationship with Vijayashanthi (Bhoomi Shetty). She has been supportive of him since childhood. He falls into a problem due to financial fraud. How he saves himself and his family forms the rest of the story.
Performances:
Chaitanya Rao looks good as a middle-class abbayi with so much clarity. His every dialogue in the movie will appeal to the middle-class families out there. Bhoomi Shetty got a good role and she gave a neat performance.
There are so many talented artists in the film. Although their names are not known to the public, some of them have the calibre to become notable artists in the future.
Plus Points:
Chaitanya Rao’s performance
Dialogues
Storyline
Fast pace
Minus Points:
A few preachy lines.
Analysis:
The trailer for the film said that the plot point refers to a problem that has affected a substantial chunk of Indians. Although the film didn't reveal what it is, things become pretty clear right in the first 45 minutes that the movie is about gullible people getting conned by the perpetrators of a Ponzi scheme.
The director uses his extremely informed narrative into the mix by infusing a political sub-plot. The second half comes with a twist.
This is not the kind of film you would have expected from Tollywood. There are shades of Malayalam movies where detailing is superior. 'Conditions Apply' is the meaning of the film's title, but the creativity comes with no strings attached.
Verdict: On the whole, Sharathulu Varthisthai is a film that will be loved by middle-class families. The film tells something important about an issue affecting Indians. It's both entertaining and touching.
