Happy Birthday Vijay Deverakonda: How Liger Hero Evolved As An Actor

Vijay Deverakonda is a name that needs no introduction, right? Yes. The actor has carved a niche for himself in the world of entertainment and has become one of the most sought after stars in the South Indian film industry. Now, if we were to call him a South Indian star, it would be wrong. With Liger, he has spread his wings, and all set to become a pan India star. Today, the young Tollywood actor turned 33. Let us see how Vijay Deverakonda emerged as an actor.

Acting Career:

Vijay Deverakonda stepped into the world of cinema with the movie, Nuvvila. But he got recognition with the film, Life Is Beautiful, directed by Sekhar Kammula. He acted in a supporting role in the movie. Nuvvilla was released in 2011 and Life Is Beautiful came out in 2012. After that, he was not seen in any movies for a couple of years. He faced a lot of difficulties and was under pressure as everyone in the family was concerned about his future. Then the luck turned in his favor. He tasted success with the film, Yevade Subramanyam which was released in 2016.
Later, he got an offer to play a lead role in the movie, Pelli Choopulu. The movie was a huge hit and it not only got positive reviews from the critics, but also won many awards. The movie turned out to be a turning point in Vijay Deverakonda's career and from then on, there was no looking back. He etched his name on the walls of Indian cinema with the film, Arjun Reddy. Vijay Deverakonda lived in the role of Arjun Reddy, a medico with anger management issues.

After Arjun Reddy, Vijay was seen in Geetha Govindam. A movie lover might not be shocked to see Vijay Deverakonda who acted in such a typical role in Arjun Reddy as a boy next door in Geetha Govindam, but a common audience would have been for sure. Vijay Deverakonda scored good marks on the acting scale for his performance in the movie, Geetha Govindam.

Later, he appeared in many films. Movies like Taxiwaala, Dear Comrade, World Famous Lover justify the statement Vijay Deverakonda is one of the most versatile actors, who never shy away from experimenting with his roles in films. As an actor, he has proved himself. 

Now, on the professional front, he will be seen in Liger,  a sports drama action film written and directed by Puri Jagannadh. The film is bankrolled by Karan Johar, Puri Jagannadh and Charmme Kaur. Vijay will be seen in the role of kickboxer and Bollywood actress Ananya Panday is playing the female lead. Liger is Vijay Deverakonda's Hindi debut and Ananya Panday's Telugu debut. On the other hand, Vijay will also be seen in VD 11, helmed by Shiva Nirvana. Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Vijay Deverakonda are seen in the lead roles in the movie which is tentatively titled VD 11
