Vizianagaram Growth Hormone Case: Mother of Rescued Minor Girl Blames Male Visitors for Ordeal

 - Sakshi Post

Vizianagaram: Days after Andhra Pradesh State Commission for Protection of Child Rights rescued a minor girl who was being forcibly administered growth hormones, her mother rejected the claims that she was forcibly feeding hormone pills or steroids to her daughter.

She asserted that her daughter should undergo medical tests to bring out the facts. The mother alleged that a male acquaintance named Abhishek Paul told her that her 16-year-old daughter is possessed and she needed to see an exorcist to get rid of evil spirits. She further alleged that in the name of exorcism, Abhishek Paul and Devaraj have sexually assaulted her daughter. To avoid getting caught, they made her child call up the Commission for Protection of Child Rights in 1098 and put the blame on her.

Taking suo-motu cognisance of the matter, the police have seized the mobile phones of the accused persons and are verifying the details.

Earlier, the Commission for Protection of Child Rights had received a complaint from the victim girl on its helpline in which the minor girl had complained that her mother was force-feeding her some tablets to boost body growth and she also allegedly forced her to have physical relations with male visitors posing as film directors and producers. The girl further told the officials of the Commission that when she refused to take the pills, her mother would beat her.
