Vizag: CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy Throws Open Sea Harrier Museum for Public

Visakhapatnam: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy inaugurated the Sea Harrier Museum on Beach Road in Visakhapatnam on Thursday. On this occasion, the Navy officials explained the features of the museum to the Chief Minister. 

The Sea Harrier fighter jet (SH 606) is mounted at the newly-built museum. The museum was built with an expenditure of Rs 10 crore. The newly-inaugurated museum is located inside the 22,000-sq ft Rajiv Smruthi Bhavan on RK Beach Road in the city. After its decommissioning in 2016, the Sea Harrier jet was brought from Goa to Visakhapatnam by the Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority (VMRDA).  

Sea Harrier Museum will be a new addition to the list of attractions in the porty city. It already boasts of Navy projects like INS Kurusura Submarine, and TU 142 M aircraft museum. The Sea Harrier Museum will be made accessible to the public soon. 

Later, the Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy inaugurated the Indoor Sports Arena complex at MVP Colony. The sports arena consists of a basketball court, six badminton courts and a volleyball court.
