Sri Lankan Envoy Calls On CM YS Jagan

Amaravati:  A Sri Lankan delegation comprising it's  Eastern Province Governor Senthil Thondaman and the island nation's Deputy High Commissioner in India Dr D. Venkateswaran called on Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy at the Camp Office here on Monday 
 
They requested the Chief Minister to construct Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple in Sri Lanka who responded favourably. Nearly 50 per cent of Sri Lankan tourists coming to India visit Tirumala and through them, we have learnt about the welfare programmes being implemented in AP, they said.

The visit as is per the instructions of their President who heard about the welfare programmes and the developement taking place in the State, they said. Sri Lanka is ready to work with AP in the sectors of agriculture, industries and tourism .

They sought the cooperation of AP in the developement of aqua field in Sri Lanka. The visiting delegation told him that Sri Lanka is gradually recovering after facing hurdles due to Covid 19 and imports. They invited investments in areas of minerals and tourism. Senior officials of the Sri Lanka High Commission were also present.
