Pawan's Package Politics Peaks: Party Promotions with Producer's Money!
The juggling act of Jana Sena Party (JSP) president Pawan Kalyan aka Package Star is making a dent in his own image. He’s using politics for movies and movies for politics and this strategy is failing him in both the Tollywood and Andhra Pradesh politics.
Previously, the actor-turned-politician would command a mass appeal. Movie-goers would eagerly wait for even the smallest updates about his upcoming film. However, he’s lost that aura among the movie fans.
Recently, his movies have not done well at the box office. Even a small-time hero’s movie does more business at the box office than his film. The reason attributed to this downfall is Pawan Kalyan is mixing up politics and movies for personal gains and movie-goers do not seem to appreciate it.
Of late, one can’t help but notice the political tone and contours in the storyline of Pawan’s new movies. Not just film critics but also the viewers are wondering why certain dialogue or a scene was inserted in the movie which goes against the plot of the movie. We have seen that Jana Sena leader’s recent ‘Bro’ movie miserably failed at the box office. Because of his experimentation, the makers of the Bro movie incurred huge losses.
The newly launched trailer of Pawan Kalyan’s Ustaad Bhagat Singh movie directly refers to the Jana Sena Party through the election symbol (glass tumbler). Even though the film is produced by Mythri Movie Makers, the actor-turned-politician seems to be calling the shots in the storyline. This kind of misadventure with the entertainment content is causing huge losses to the producers of his films. This year, he has three films lined up – Hari Hara Veeramallu (directed by Krish Jagarlamudi), OG (directed by Sujeeth), and Ustaad Bhagat Singh (directed by Harish Shankar).
Netizens are trolling Pawan Kalyan for the ‘glass tumbler’ dialogue in the Ustaad Bhagat Singh movie. Many are wondering about the relation of a glass tumbler with the film’s storyline. While other social media user quipped that the ‘glass tumbler’ will be crushed in the upcoming elections in Pithapuram assembly constituency. Notably, Pawan Kalyan is contesting the assembly polls from this seat. The film-goers and the actor's fans were anticipating a solid movie plot but the trailer seems to have spoiled their excitement about the to-be-released movie.
It's election time in Andhra Pradesh. Seasoned politicians across the country are busy with campaigning activities, but Pawan Kalyan still finds time for the movies. The actor’s inclination more towards movies indicates that he is aware of the outcome of the elections results and mentally prepared to wind up the political party and get back to movies full time. People are questioning why the actor then using the producer's money to run own party's election campaigns.
