AMARAVATI: The Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC)  on Monday has decided to consider digital Aadhaar cards as an identity card for enabling concession on bus tickets for senior citizens.

APSRTC is giving 25 percent discount on ticket prices to senior citizens. For that, Aadhaar Card, Senior Citizen ID Card, PAN Card, Voter ID Card, Passport, Ration Card are considered as identity cards.  Executive Director (Operations) K.S. Brahmanandam issued an order on Monday instructing the officials to consider digital Aadhaar as an identity card from now on.

The APSRTC had restored the 25% concession in the ticket fares to senior citizens with effect from April 1, 2022, which was earlier stopped in 2020 due to the COVID pandemic

A circular was issued where concession would be extended again to all senior citizens who have crossed the age of 60 years in all categories of RTC buses, including AC buses.

Senior citizens seeking this service can  produce either their Aadhaar card, and now digital Aadhaar card, or the senior citizen ID card, PAN card, voter ID card, passport or ration card (any one of these).
