Amazon Sells Toilet Mats Showcasing Indian Deities, Faces Backlash
Hyderabad: Leading e-commerce site Amazon has been in the storm again after Indian consumers complained that the online retail giant was selling foot mats and other products showcasing Indian deities. This has created a furore with users lambasting Amazon for hurting the religious sentiments of the people.
The products include towels, doormats, slippers toilet mats, among others.
However, the products are not only limited to showcasing the products of only one religion. It also includes some pet covers with images of the Indian gods.
A Twitter user complained about it and asked Amazon to remove it immediately. At the time of filing this copy, when we checked the links, it said the page could not be found.

Amazon had earlier too landed in a similar controversy in 2016, and again in 2018, when a leader from Punjab objected to Amazon Global selling doormats with the images of temples on it.
