Chandrababu Goofs Up On Begumpet Airport, Deletes Tweet

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu - Sakshi Post

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu seems to be stretching truth beyond credible limits with every passing day. Not very long ago he said that the Telugu Desam Party had taken on the British rulers. His latest gaffe at the Mahanadu in the Telangana capital Hyderabad, has sent netizens into splits.

Chandrababu once again revealed his limited understanding of history when he said that Hyderabad was once a city without proper drinking water supply till the Telugu Desam Party took over. What Chandrababu Naidu who came to Hyderabad only in the late 70s probably does not know is that during the reign of the 7th Nizam of Hyderabad, Mir Osman Ali Khan of the Asif Jahi dynasty, the Osman Sagar or Gandipet tank water had been created specially for the drinking water needs of Hyderabad along with the other major water body of the time, Himayat Sagar. This was to supplement the water supply provided by the Mir Alam Tank build in 1902.

Chandrababu's ignorance of history did not end with that as his tweet which was deleted later showed. He claimed that it was during the TDP era that the Begumpet airport had been built as the No.1 Airport in the country. He also took credit for building the Hi-Tec City. A reality check will reveal that the Begumpet airport was built in the 1930s by the last Nizam of Hyderabad.

Although the TDP chief deleted his tweet after being left egg-faced for his display of ignorance, netizens who were ready with screen shots were in no mood to spare him.

They ripped his mask of smugness off his smart Twitter handle and flew at him with everything they had—photographs of Osman Sagar, Mir Alam Tank, Begumpet airport substantiated by references from Wikipedia and other sources.
