KCR Is A Farmer Friendly CM: KTR

Telangana Minister KTR addressing a Rythu Bandhu meeting in Rajanna Sircilla district - Sakshi Post

Rajanna Sircilla: Telangana IT and Industries Minister K. Taraka Rama Rao (KTR) convened the "Rythu Bandhu" meeting in Illanthakunta here. Speaking at the meeting, KTR said, "The government is trying to rejuvenate the 46,000 rivers in the state Mission Kakatiya programme. In the united Andhra Pradesh, no one bothered about the farmers. Telangana is the only state to supply electricity 24 hours a day to the farm sector. In 2009, the Congress government came to power with a poll promise of 9 hours of electricity a day to the farms. But they did not supply power at least for an hour. While the availability of electricity made news in the erstwhile state, it would now make a news if it is not available."

After the formation of Telangana, electricity and crop seeds are available in time for the farmers, KTR said. "Since Chief Minister KCR is farmer-friendly, he has set special focus on farmers. An year after waiving the farmers' crop loans, KCR announced his plans to extend financial support. After 86 years, KCR took the initiative of purification of land records, which benefits 60 lakh farmers with the new passbooks against their lands. KCR's government is providing a pension of Rs 1,000, whereas the previous governments gave people just Rs 200," he added.

"It is a shame that the Congress leaders chose to criticize the Rythu Bandhu scheme. Ours is the only government in the country to provide financial support as well as water for drinking and irrigation of 1.2 crore acres. Telangana will soon stand as an example for a new green revolution in the country. The employment guarantee scheme is a great initiative. The centre should integrate the scheme with agricultural sector in the country. Telangana government is fully aware of the problems of farmers and will strive to help them always," he said.
