Nayeem-Police Nexus Pictures Create Ripples On Social Media

CID ASP Maddipati Srinivas Rao with Nayeem - Sakshi Post

Hyderabad: About five months after dreaded gangster Nayeem was killed in a police encounter at Shadnagar, and after the Telangana government deposed before the High Court stating that it could find no evidence to prove any police official or politician having links with the gangster, pictures showing some senior police officials hobnobbing with him created buzz on social media.

Pictures of Additional SP Chandrasekhar, Inspectors Saidulu, Venkat Reddy, ASP Maddipati Srinivas Rao and DSP Tirupathanna in friendly disposition with the gangster in separate occasions emerged from nowhere and are creating ripples on social network sites for couple of days. However, the state government, or any police authority seem to have noticed the development despite the matter being a serious one.

Maddipati Srinivas Rao, who was an SI of 1989 batch, worked in Bhuvangiri sub division up to CI grade and sometime in Special Investigation Branch (SIB) before moving to Hyderabad. He worked in Task Force, ACP at Central Crime Station, Madhapur Additional DCP and is now working in Crime Investigation Department (CID) as Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP). His links with Nayeem were no secret for long.

Another 1989 batch SI Tirupathanna also worked in Bhuvanagiri sub division and was hobnobbing with the gangster during his stint in the then Nalgond district. Now he is working as DSP at Sangareddy town. A picture of Tirupathanna along with Nayeem participating in a puja at a Ganesh pandal set up by a sarpanch is also doing the rounds on the social media.

Traffic CI Venkat Reddy is a known friend of Nayeem and he used to meet the gangster very often. Venkat Reddy is reported to have claimed that he met Nayeem only on friendly terms as he was his classmate. However, Nayeem was already a noted gangster and wanted in several cases when their meeting purported to have taken place.

It is learnt that, one of the DSP rank officials whose pictures with the gangster became public had used his team to destroy some other clinching evidence at Nayeem's Alkapuri residence.

Interestingly, some of the officials whose links with the gangster were unearthed are said to have taken the excuse of working for the department's interests by establishing contacts with him.
