Karunanidhi Health Update
Chennai: One of the mainstays of Dravidian movement along with Periyar and Annadurai, Muthuvel Karunanidhi continues to be in critical condition. The doctors at Kauvery hospital, where the Dravida Munnetra Kazhigam (DMK) supremo is being treated, say that his vital organ functions was a big challenge.
Meanwhile thousands of DMK cadre and fans of Karunanidhi have gathered near the Kauvery hospital. The people are fighting with police outside the hospital. On the other hand his house at Gopalapuram has been barricaded form outsiders. All the TASMAC liquor shops have been asked to close by 6 pm today.
The police have also taken over the Rajaji Hall in Chennai and the Commandos have moved in near to the hospital. It is learnt that the software companies Congnizant and Tata Consultancy Services have asked their employees to leave early. TCS has also made arrangements for transport of its employees.
Emotions are high and people are getting impatient. We can hear people shouting outside the hospital: "Rise and Walk Our Leader."
The Kauvery hospital is likely come out with another health bulletin by 7 pm.
