Nandyal Chants ‘Jai Jagan...’

Nandyal turned into a sea of humanity as thousands milled onto the streets. All roads led to the SPG Ground, where YSRCP organised a massive public meeting. The crowds heard with electrifying speeches with rapt attention and cheered wildly whenever YS Jagan's name was heard. Here are the highlights of the public meeting:

• The TDP activists gave Rs 300 to each person asking them not to attend YS Jagan's public meeting. The people were offered free food packets and liquor if they abstain from the meeting. But the people came despite all these things. They braved all kinds of obstacles to attend the public meeting.
• All roads leading to the SPG Ground in Nandyal were blocked for several kilo metres with people waiting to enter the ground to catch a glimpse of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. There were huge traffic jams everywhere. Even YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had to patiently wade through the milling crowds to reach the dais.
• Large number of people have come from several villages in the rural mandal and Kosupadu mandal and all arterial roads leading to Nandyal were chock-a-block with traffic. People thronged roof tops and the balconies of buildings to catch a glimpse of YS Jagan.
• When YS Jagan Mohan Reddy came on to the dais and greeted the people with folded hands, the crowds were delirious. They chanted Jai Jagan as he greeted them. When YSRCP candidate Silpa Mohan Reddy and Silpa Chakrapani Reddy greeted him, there were lusty cheers from all across the ground.
• YSRCP MLA Amjad Basha addressed the gathering in Urdu as a large number of Muslims, especially women, turned out in large numbers. He specifically mentioned as to how the Muslims were benefited by the 4 per cent Muslim reservations given by late YS Rajasekhara Reddy.
• Party MLAs Koramutla Srinivasulu, Koramutla Srinivasulu, Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy, RK Roja, former MLA Vangaveeti Radhakrishna, former MLC Rahman, senior leaders Lella Appi Reddy, Bhumana Karunakar Reddy, Nandyal municipal chairperson Sulochana and several others shared the dais at the public meeting.
• Nagari MLA RK Roja’s speech received the loudest cheers. Whenever she mentioned YS Rajasekhara Reddy and YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s name, the crowds responded enthusiastically.
