Naga Pratishta Puja To Be Performed For Early Marriage For Rs15000 At Srikalahasti

Hyderabad: The Srikalahasti temple in Chittoor district is going to introduce Naga Pratishta Puja for early marriage for brides- and grooms-to-be. The ritual will be performed at Rs15,000 fee, the second costliest in the country after `Vastram' Puja at Tirumala.

The Puja is believed to bring heavenly blessing on those finding it difficult to get married or for childless couples who are. According to reports, the temple will start performing this Puja once it is cleared by the state government.

The official added that uniqueness in the pooja is that a new snake god idol will be installed for each pooja and archaks will perform pooja and abhisekham on a daily basis. 

One of the archaks at the temple said that the decision to undertake puja at temple premises was taken as some of the archaks were performing outside at higher charges from Rs 20,000 to 1 lakh.

Meanwhile, Srikalahasti temple trust chairman Guruvaiah Naidu said that puja performing in the temple gives best results as Shiva and Parvati located here have maximum power to control Rahu and Ketu.

The official added that uniqueness in the pooja is that a new snake god idol will be installed for each pooja and archaks will perform pooja and abhisekham on a daily basis.

Rahu Keta Puja at Srikalahasti has been performed by noted personalities like Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Sachin Tendulkar and the latest to join them is Olympic medalist PV Sindhu

The other temples which perform Naga Pratishta Pooja are the Kukke Sri Subramanya temple in Karnataka and the Trimbakeswar temple in Nashik, Maharashtra.

Srikalahasti temple located about 40 km from Tirumala is known across the country for Rahu-Ketu Puja and Kalasarpa Dosha.
