Music Director Hamsalekha Suffers Heart Attack

Veteran Kannada music director and film writer Hamsalekha has been admitted to hospital after he suffered a mild heart stroke on Tuesday morning.

The music composer complained of discomfort while he was shooting for a music programme. He was immediately shifted to Sagar Apollo hospital where he is undergoing treatment. The doctors in the hospital stated that his condition is stable.

Hamsalekha has been vigorously travelling for various TV shows. He had just returned home the previous day after visiting Mysore, Madikeri and Ujire where he went to shoot for a music show, which may have caused exhaustion.

Born as Govindaraju Gangaraju in Mysore, he renamed himself as Hamsalekha. He is a famous music director in the Kannada Film Industry who began his career in the late 1980s. Apart from tuning music, he has also worked as a screenplay and dialogue writer. He has composed and written for over 300 feature films. He is usually referred to by the title Naadha Brahma.
