Mudragada Placed Under House Arrest

Ahead of his proposed padayatra for achieving reservations to Kapus, the police on Wednesday confined Kapu patriarch Mudragada Padmanabham to house arrest.

His padayatra was to start from Ravulapalem of East Godavari district and end it at Antarvedi. But, the police stopped him and put him under house arrest. They also arrested key Kapu leaders like Akula Ramakrishna and Saadhaanala Sreenivas from Raavula Palem of EG district and sent them to Kakinada III town police station.

Mudragada said though the High Court has paved the way for the yatra, the Government is citing law and order issues as a pretext to stop him from taking up yatra. He said he would announce fresh dates for the yatra.
